Ferndale 4x4
Ferndale is an active cattle, merino sheep & angora goat farm in the Henderson valley just outside Cathcart in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, which is a Malaria and Bilharzia free area. Ferndale has various 4x4 Trails, all graded between 3 & 5. Ferndale has been in Drive Out magazine's Top 10 from 2004 - 2006 and was placed on the "Roll of Honour" in 2007.
4x4 Experience Required:
Good driving experience required.
4x4 Equipment Required:
Ensure that your vehicle has correctly rated recovery points!
Other Requirements:
A sense of humour! A sense of adventure! Snacks and drink for the journey. (NO ALCOHOL DURING TRAIL)
Vehicle Types:
4x4 with low range. Diff-lock is highly recommended as well as good ground clearance. Most standard vehicles will stuggle unless you are a highly experienced driver. Standard vehicle will also be more vulnerable to possible damage. NO 4x2's or low slung SUV.
Trail Length:
6-8 hours. It will be a long and hard day's 4x4 driving!
