Gonjah 4x4
Gonjah is a beautiful 4×4 trail that offers a mild 4×4 experience with excellent views all around you. There is also a good chance of spotting nyala, bushbuck, duiker, rooibok and birds, such as the Knysna loerie, hawks and eagles. The route climbs to 570m at its highest point and there is a view site that offers a sweeping vista of the valley. At the other end of the trail there is a view of the Cockscomb mountain.
4x4 Experience Required:
Basic 4x4 Knowledge. If you are inexperienced you are still welcome to join us, but you must accept that what is rated as an easy trail might seem more daunting to the inexperienced driver. Our guides will assist you where we can to make your 4x4 experience as pleasant as possible.
4x4 Equipment Required:
None. We supply the necessary recovery equipment, tyre gauges, a compressor, basic tools and emergency water for vehicles.
Other Requirements:
A sense of humour! A sense of adventure! Snacks and drinks for the journey. Make sure you take plenty of liquids as it can get very hot. (NO ALCOHOL DURING THE TRAIL) Suntan lotion and hats for the February heat is highly recommended.
Vehicle Types:
4×4 vehicles with good ground clearance and Low range, standard 4x4 bakkies are fine, but low slung SUV’s will be a problem. Ask us if you are unsure if your vehicle is suitable. No 4x2's allowed.
