Blue Planet ATV Academy

Blue Planet ATV Academy was established in 2006 following the outcome of the NOW (National Off-Road Workgroup) initiative. The need for professionally recognised off-road driver training and the rapid growth in the 4x4 and quad bike market. We specialise in 4x4 Driving Techniques. We also organise and run Overland Tours tailor made to customer specific requirements and needs.
The name Blue Planet was derived from the Blue Flag beaches indicating a respect towards our environment and the protection there off. ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) is the recognition for all types of vehicles (4x4; 4x2; soft-roader, etc, etc) including quad bikes that are used on roads inaccessible to the ordinary two-wheel drive vehicle.

Our Driver Training Courses include the newly SAQA registered Unit Standards (US 254154 & US 254135) for 4x4 Driving as well as Defensive Driving.

We are registered with the following organisations:
SANOTA (South African National Off-Road Trainers Association)
ETDP-SETA as an Assessor to Conduct Outcome Based Assessment - SOR No. 169931
AAWDC (Association of All-Wheel Drive Clubs)
4WDGSA (4 Wheel Drive Guides of South Africa) EC No. 2000
D.E.A.T. (Adventure 4x4 Trails & Overland Guide) - GP1316

We have conducted 4x4 training locally as well as in Sub-Sahara Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands with more than twenty years of experience in the field of off-road driving.

We offer a complete conference facility with the necessary audio visual material, plus B&B facilities and our training track for the practical driving exercise is + - 20km outside Port Elizabeth.

Off-Road driving is NOT the creation of new tacks but how to safely handle a vehicle in existing tracks.
