Padlangs in Patensie
Directions to Meeting Place / Trail
Drive through Patensie and head towards the Baviaanskloof. About 6km after Patensie, you’ll see a farm stall called Padlands. We will meet here at 9:00 to depart at 9:30. If you want to eat breakfast at Padlangs, they will be open from 8am. When you get there, go through the shop to the garden when you will find Barto(wearing a black ECOA T-shirt) with the registration form. Please find him as soon as you arrive.
4x4 Experience Required
Basic 4x4 Knowledge. If you are inexperienced you are still welcome to join us, but you must accept that what is rated as an easy trail might seem more daunting to the inexperienced driver. Our guides will assist you where we can to make your 4x4 experience as pleasant as possible.
4x4 Equipment Required
None. We supply the necessary recovery equipment, tyre gauges, a compressor, basic tools and emergency water for vehicles.
Other Requirements
A sense of humour! A sense of adventure! Snacks and drinks for the journey. Make sure you take plenty of liquids as it can get very hot. (NO ALCOHOL DURING THE TRAIL) Suntan lotion and hats for the February heat is highly recommended.
Vehicle Types
4×4 vehicles with good ground clearance and Low range, standard 4x4 bakkies are fine, but low slung SUV’s will be a problem. Ask us if you are unsure if your vehicle is suitable. No 4x2's allowed.
